Dear White People,
I have questions.
Maybe that is why white people put their parents in homes. The Visit is a movie you do not need to watch but if you do, it could be good background noise. Sundowning and schizophrenia might need a PR team to wash away this take on the diseases. The “symptoms” of those two disorders are displayed and these kids exist in it ignorant of the fact. M. Night Tries to make the illness scary, which it is, but he makes the symptoms cartoonishly scary. The tropes he uses are tired and obvious. There was a direction I assumed he might have gone, but he just wanted to create misdirection because he’s M. Night. Then at the end, there was the sentimental part about holding anger, which is fine but these two old geezers during the movie were the focus, and you had some scenes touch on the subject, but you are more concerned about what these two old farts are going to do than the growth of letting go.
The direction I assumed he might have gone was what Unbreakable, Split, and Glass did, “grounded” superhuman powers. In the case of schizophrenia being able to see different dimensions layered upon ours. It would have continued to grow that world he’s built with the titles mentioned.
Side Note: I was searching for an image for this post and saw an article that says M. Night wanted to include these two characters in the Unbreakable, Split, and Glass universe.
